Directorate of Coordination (Police Wireless), set up in February, 1946, is a nodal coordinating agency for police telecommunication both at the State and at the National Level.
The project for installing a Satellite-based Police Telecommunication Net (POLNET) in the country, at an estimated cost of Rs.137.91 crore, is under progress. Technical specifications of the main tender for the Polnet project and pre-bid qualification tender for short-listing of vendors for Polnet has been floated.
