Police Training College Gulbarga is situated on Gulbarga-Martur road about 4 km away from the city of Gulbarga.This College was sanctioned by the Government of Karnataka VIDE ORDER NO HD/14/POP/92 Dated 28.09.2002. The training College has been built at the total cost of Rs.16.70 crores.This college has campus of 72 acres of land,and has a beautiful administrative building,barracks,quarters for staff, mess buildings etc. This College has been inaugurated by the honorable chief minister of Karnataka Shri.S.M.Krishna on 07.02.2003. The main object for opening this college is to train the Civil PSI's & Civil Police Constables,who are recruited in the Police Department and to Conduct refresher course and capsule Course for Inservice police officers to update their Professional knowledge and skills

The Academy is headed by a PRINCIPAL, an I.P.S. Officer of the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police and assisted by a VICE-PRINCIPAL of the rank of SUPERINTENDENT of POLICE & 3 Deputy Supdt.Of Police & 6 Police Inspector's and 10 Police sub inspectors and 02 Reserve Sub- Inspectors. The sanctioned strength of the faculty also includes a a Chief Drill Instructor and Assistant Chief Drill instructor a Assistant Drill Instructor and Constables. The supporting staff include administrative, ministerial and other Group D employees. Total staff strength is 153.
