The Karnataka State Police Training School, Khanapur is one of the prestigious Police Training School in Karnataka State established in the year 1993.
The purpose of the Police Training School is the preliminary training of Police Constables,their powers and duties as members of Police Force.The training aims to inculcate discipline,physical,mental fitness and activity,self reliance,keen observation,straight forwardness in duty,control of temper.
Our School is located on the bank of Malaprabha river.Khanapur town has a railway station,Bus Stand at a distance of K.M. The nearest airport is at Sambra,which is 45 K.M. from the school.
The School Campus consists of 18 Acres 17 Guntas of land. Four class rooms ,Parade ground,Administrative block,Six barracks for accommodation of 300 trainees, a medical room is available in the school.Community Hall,separate rooms for Carpenter,Barber ,Cobbler and Washerman. Gymnasium building with multi-gym equipments.Overload water tank of capacity 50,000 Ltrs. School has a library consisting of more than 4000 books on various subjects i.e Law,History,Novels,Journels etc.There is a Home Theatre cum Recreation Hall, Video Conferecning Hall,Obstacles Course,Computer Center,Solar Water Heater System,Water Purifier Plant,Steam Rice Cooking system and deep freezer for Kitchen.
The School has Capacity to accomaddate 300 trainees at a time.The course is for a period of nine months.During this period the trainees will be given training in in-door as well as out-door subjects.The in-door training staff will give training to the trainees as per syllabus mentioned in the "Gore Commission Report". The uniform syllabus is followed as per Gore Commission Report. Monthly tests and Mid-term tests are conducted in our School. The subject experts such as R.T.O, Excise Officers,Forest Officers,Medical Officers, Home Guard's, Fire Force and Other Experts are invited as Guest lecturers. The performance of each trainee is evaluated by us regularly. This performance is taken in the consideration during final exam . Out-door training given by out-door training staff.
