Mission Statement
1. The Police Training School Chumukedima stress the paramount importance of professional efficiency of police to serve the people effectively in maintaining PUBLIC PEACE AND PROTECTING THE RIGHTS, LIVES AND PROPERTIES OF THE CITIZEN in accordance with the established law of the land.
2. The Police Training School shall therefore strive its best and make all possible attamepts to provide COMPREHENSIVE QUALITY TRAINING to all trainees and inculcate in them a sense of RESPONSIBILITY AND LEADERSHIP by respecting human and social values of the society in the service of the people.
3. Further, the trainees shall be prepared to meet the people expectation in full CONFIDENCE COURAGE AND DEDICATION with a high degree of DISCIPLINE AND INTEGRITY in discharge of their BONAFIDE DUTIES in conformity with the motto of Nagaland Police SECURITY, SERVICE and SACRIFICE.
Institution
Nagaland Police Training School was established on 1st November, 1966 by the Government of Nagaland with the following main objectives:-
(i) To provide basic training to the young and energitic new recruit Constables/Hav/ASI (both men/women)to develop professional knowledge, job oriented skills and right attitude as police personnel in the service of the society as guardians of law and order.
(ii) To provide in service/refresher courses and other specializec courses to the serving personnnel at regular intervals to adapt themselves and move along with the changing scenario in the professional subjects, both indoor and outdoor.
(iii) To provide such other courses as may be required by the Government/ Police Department from ime to time as per requirement.
(iv) NPTS has succeeded in maintaining high standards training leadings to the development of a strong foundation of Nagaland Police, both outdoor and indoor subjects. It has infrastructures to meet training needs of the level of personnel specified above.
Climate
Chumukedima is very hot and humid during April to August and cold from December to Febrauary. Personnel nominated for courses are advised to buying suitable clothing, keeping the seasons in mind.
Location
It is located about 15 Kms from Dimapur/Railway Station, about 13 Kms. from Dimapur Airport. It is housed in the Police Complex on the side of National Highway 39 at Chumukedima. The institution is on the western end of the Police Complex and about 2 Km from the NH-39. |
